The Digital Age of Paediatrics – Professor Neil Sebire.

Professor Neil Sebire is Professor of Pathology at UCL Great Ormond Street Hospital Institute of Child Health, and Chief Research Information Officer and Director of the Digital Research, Informatics and Virtual Environment (DRIVE) Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. He has previously chaired and served on numerous National Committees including RCPath, RCOG and CCLG National Tissue Bank.

Neil is a clinical academic with research interests that include complications of pregnancy and the placenta, stillbirth and infant death, as well as paediatric oncology and nephrology. He is the author of several internationally recognised leading textbooks and more than 500 peer-reviewed scientific papers. His current research and academic interests are however focused around the impact of digital transformation on health care, in particular how clinical informatics will improve child health. In this regard, Neil leads the Clinical Informatics Research Programme at UCL-GOSH including activities through the UCL Computer Science Industry Exchange Network as well as the clinical informatics PhD programme.
